Get paid to play FPS games
Yes, you can earn from your FPS skills. Robot arms have to put a gripper exactly on a moving object, and drones have to react the instant something gets in the way. FPS players do both every match. On Metagaming, they take aim, tracking and reaction missions, paid per task from $1.
The missions
What FPS players do on Metagaming
| Mission | Way to train | Opens at | Skill track |
|---|---|---|---|
| Aim and reaction arenas | Play | Rookie | Accuracy, Speed |
| Aim calibration runs and moving-target tracking | Record | Pro | Accuracy |
| Obstacle dodging at speed in lab sims | Record | Pro | Speed |
| Rating robot grasp and tracking attempts | Judge | Elite | Accuracy |
| Live control of a robot arm on a sorting line | Teleop | Expert | Accuracy |
Missions open as labs post them, so not every mission is available at all times. Every mission shows its pay before you accept it. See pay per task.
Why it's worth something
Your aim trains robot arms
Flicking to a target, tracking a strafing enemy, reacting to a sound off-screen: these are the same problems a pick-and-place robot or a drone faces. Robots learn them from examples of people doing them cleanly, without wasted motion.
FPS games build two skill tracks. Accuracy is putting your aim exactly where it needs to be. Speed is reacting before anyone else. Prove both in the free aim trainer and reaction time test, and your scores go on your Access Pass.
FPS skill matters more than rank in any one game. A high-ranked player and a careful casual player can both score well in the arenas.

This list shows the genre, not which games missions use. Many FPS games run strict anti-cheat, so most FPS-skill missions happen in our own browser drills and lab sims, not in the game itself. Each mission names the games it records, and we only add a game after checking that recording it is safe with its anti-cheat. Never run our recorder in a game a mission doesn't name.
Metagaming is not affiliated with the developers or publishers of the games named on this page. Game names describe the genre only.
FAQ
FPS game questions
Can you get paid to play FPS games?
Yes, for specific missions that use FPS skills: aim, tracking and quick reactions. Robot arms and drones learn from examples of people locking on to moving targets and reacting fast. Missions are paid per task, from $1. There's no pay for ranked matches or idle play.
Will recording get me banned?
Many FPS games use strict anti-cheat. We only add a game to a mission after checking that recording it is safe with its anti-cheat, and only record the games a mission names. A lot of FPS-skill missions run in our own browser drills and lab sims instead of in the game.
Do I need to be a pro player?
No. The aim trainer and reaction time test show where you stand, and everyone starts as a Rookie. Good, consistent work on missions is what ranks you up.
What rank do I need?
You can start as a Rookie with the skill arenas. Record missions open at Pro, judging robot attempts at Elite, and live teleop at Expert.
