For AI labs and robotics teams
Human skill data for robotics and physical AI
Metagaming supplies human skill data for robotics and physical AI: teleoperation sessions, human demonstrations from games and simulators, and evaluation labels. The data comes from a network of adult trainers, gamers and licensed professionals, ranked per skill from measured performance. Labs brief a task, and we build the mission, collect the data, check it and deliver it.
What we deliver
Five kinds of data
Teleoperation sessions
Trainers drive real robots remotely, live, under your instructions. Only proven trainers at Expert rank and above take teleop work.
Human demonstrations
Trainers perform your task in a game or simulator: flying, driving, packing, placing. You get the inputs and the state they acted on.
Gameplay input data
Inputs, timestamps and game state recorded while skilled players play. Never webcam, microphone or anything outside the game.
Evaluation labels
Humans judge your robot's attempts: what went right, what went wrong, and which of two runs was better.
Custom training games
We build a game around your task, so trainers produce exactly the demonstrations your model needs.
Data categories
By industry
| Category | Robot applications | Data types |
|---|---|---|
| Autonomous driving | Self-driving cars, delivery bots | Driving demos, edge-case judgments |
| Aerial | Drones, air taxis | Flight and FPV sim demos, inspection flights |
| Marine | Autonomous vessels, port cranes | Docking and navigation demos |
| Warehouse and logistics | Pickers, mobile robots, forklifts | Packing, grasping, aisle navigation |
| Manufacturing | Robot arms, assembly cells | Part placement, defect labels |
| Agriculture | Harvesting and field robots | Gentle-grasp demos, field navigation |
| Construction | Autonomous machinery | Operator demos, site judgments |
| Humanoids and legged | Humanoids, robot dogs | Balance, dodge-timing and movement data |
| Home and service | Home robots | Folding and tidying demos (VR) |
| Healthcare and labs | Lab automation | Pipetting and sample-handling demos |
The trainer network
Ranked per skill, from measured performance
Every trainer is ranked separately in each skill: speed, accuracy, packing, navigation, timing and steady hands. Ranks come from measured performance in our skill arenas and on missions, not from what people say about themselves. Self-reported skills are kept, but labelled as claimed.
You can filter trainers by skill rank, by industry, and by whether they hold a relevant licence or certification. Licences are checked before a trainer takes a mission that depends on them.
How a project works
Brief to delivery
- 01
Brief
You tell us the robot, the task, the data type, the volume and the timeline.
- 02
Custom mission
We design the mission or training game and agree the QA rules with you.
- 03
Collection
We match the mission to trainers with the right skill rank, industry and licence.
- 04
QA
Every task is checked against the agreed rules. Work that fails isn't delivered or paid.
- 05
Delivery
You receive the data in the agreed format, with each session's consent record.
Quality and consent
Adult, consented, checked
- 18+ only. Every trainer is an adult. No minors in any dataset.
- Consent on every session. Trainers agree to how their data is used, and each session is stamped with the consent version it was collected under.
- Inputs, not identities. We capture inputs, timing and task state, never faces, voices or anything outside the task.
- QA rules per task. Each task has written acceptance rules, agreed with you before collection starts.
Buyer FAQ
Questions from labs
Who are the trainers?
Adults who have signed up with a Metagaming Access Pass: gamers and people with real-world trades such as drivers, pilots, forklift operators and lab techs. Each is ranked per skill from measured performance.
What formats do you deliver in?
Formats are agreed in the brief, to fit your training pipeline. Demonstrations and input data are time-stamped; evaluation labels are structured per attempt.
How long does a project take?
It depends on the volume and on how specialised the trainers need to be. We give you a timeline after the brief, before collection starts.
Is there a minimum order?
Projects usually start with a pilot: a small collection to check the data fits your model before a larger order. Pilot size is agreed in the brief.
Can we have exclusive rights to the data?
Exclusivity is agreed per project, in the contract.
How do you handle consent and privacy?
Every trainer is 18 or older and consents to how their data is used, and each session is stamped with its consent version. We capture inputs, timing and task state, never faces, voices or anything outside the task.
