Is Metagaming legit?
Metagaming is a TSB Communications brand. Trainer agreements, missions and payouts run through TSBdata.ai. Joining is free: you never pay us, and we never ask for bank details to sign up. We don't promise income, and every rate on this site is an estimate.
Can you really get paid to play games?
Yes, for specific work. Robotics companies and AI labs post missions, and trainers are paid per task for work that passes quality review. There's no pay for idle play and no points or gift cards. Missions open as labs post them, so the amount of work varies.
How much can I earn?
Each task pays a drop, from $1 for Common up to $500+ for Mythic, which only Genius-rank trainers can get. Most missions are Common and Uncommon. What you earn depends on the missions labs post, your rank and your quality. Rates are estimates, market rates can fluctuate, and we don't promise income.
What is the Access Pass?
Your free trainer profile and your place in line for missions. It holds your gamertag, your setup, the skills you claim, your arena scores as proven skills and any real-world trade you work in.
What do you capture?
In the skill arenas: your times, the kind of device and when you played, under an anonymous ID until you save a score to your Access Pass. On missions: the inputs, timing and game or sim state that the mission brief lists. We don't record your webcam, your microphone or anything outside the game or task.
Can recording get me banned by anti-cheat?
We only list a game as compatible after checking that recording it is safe with that game's anti-cheat. Only record the games a mission names.
Do I need to download anything?
Not to join. The arenas run in your browser and the Access Pass takes about a minute. For missions in PC games, we email you our free desktop recorder when your spot opens.
Can I do this on mobile?
The skill arenas and the Access Pass work on any phone. Which missions you can take depends on the setup a lab asks for, so tell us yours when you sign up and we'll match you.
How do ranks work?
Everyone starts as a Rookie. The ranks are Rookie, Pro, Elite, Expert and Genius. Proven skill and good work move you up, and higher ranks open more kinds of work: Record from Pro, Judge from Elite, Teleop from Expert, and Mythic drops at Genius.
Who can join?
Anyone 18 or older. You don't need to be a pro gamer: the arenas measure skills like speed and accuracy, and experience in a real-world trade counts too.
Is this a game tester job?
Partly. Paid playtests of upcoming games are one kind of mission, open from Elite rank and paid per task like the rest. It isn't a salaried job.
Is this a career, or extra money?
For most trainers it's extra money, not a wage. The lasting part is your skill record: proven scores and good work are what labs look at when they choose trainers for higher-paid missions.
